August 20, 2019 - REPORT FROM THE ROAD - PANHANDLE / LIVE OAK TRIP: Headin' on home now after a few days on the road. Sweet time with Jungle Jay and Kimo Brown, then north to hang with friends in Tallahassee, sleepover fun and woods walk at Sowing Seeds Farm, purchased 30 very rare spiral gingers from a grower in Tallahassee (plus a few alpina, curcuma, etc.), and then hiked and swam at Wes Skiles Peacock Springs State Park near Live Oak just now... wow! What a beautiful spring and surrounding forest. I really prefer to visit these wilder, simpler springs that lie deep in lush forests rather than those that are overly groomed and attract large crowds. Now to get back to Bamboo Grove and pot up the rare gingers into larger pots to make them all comfy and happy. I will post a number of flickr photo galleries in the next few days from my trip. HERE IS A PHOTO OF PEACOCK SPRINGS where I jumped in for a quick swim. Thanks to Chris Cash (of Sowing Seeds Farm) and Bobby Green (of Halleluyah Horseshoeing Farrier Services) for a lovely hike arounf the park.
